We've all probably seen or tried Gemini's "Beautify this slide" feature in Google Slides by now. My colleagues and I are completely split on it. Some think the slides come out looking too AI-like and others are saying their presentations have never looked this good with this little effort. I'm somewhere in the middle and can honestly see both sides.
On one hand it saved me a ridiculous amount of time just the other day. On the other, the output/end result doesn't always work with brand standards + I find making edits kind of painful (non editable slides / images, can't edit the content without more prompts etc.. what's up with that Google?!)
Btw, there are dedicated presentation building tools that are way more powerful like Gamma and I'm very curious to see what Google will release next to compete.
That said the fact that we can now go from a few bullets to an actual deck in seconds still feels like Science Fiction.
And what does too AI-like actually mean anyway? Does it matter as long as the right story or message is conveyed? 🤔
